The Alicia Alonso Higher Institute of Dance

The Alicia Alonso Higher Institute of Dance (IUDAA) is a distinguished centre of artistic excellence in Madrid, Spain, attached to Rey Juan Carlos University and named in honour of legendary ballerina Alicia Alonso. It offers specialised, research‑driven dance and performing arts programmes that combine rigorous practice and academic study, preparing students for careers in performance, education, cultural leadership, and creative industries. The Institute is internationally recognised for its contributions to artistic education and research, and plays a leading role in global cultural networks — including the UNESCO Ibero‑American Chair of Dance, membership in the UNESCO UNITWIN Network for Higher Artistic Education, and active participation in the International Theatre Institute (ITI/UNESCO).
